I was born in Los Angeles, California and raised on great films such as The Sound of Music, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Breakfast Club.

I’ve written No-Spoilers Movie Reviews on and off for several years (at www.KatherineValdez.com) and was inspired by the rise of websites, organizations and initiatives – such as CherryPicks.com, Women In Film and Media Colorado, Film Fatales, the Geena Davis Institute, ReFrame, etc. – to create this dedicated site.

We need more women film critics! Let your voice be heard.

My philosophy: movies reviews don’t need to give away major plot points to tell you whether a film is worth your time. I want to be surprised. (Isn’t it annoying when trailers make you feel like you’ve just watched the entire movie? I ended up not seeing The Age of Adeline for this reason.)

My pledge to you: reviews without spoilers.
